L'incontro con Crociato è stato a lungo cercato, organizzato e poi rinviato in più occasioni. Il luogo dell'incontro era ben equipaggiato con le materassine. Quando ci siamo incontrati, a parte la naturale gentilezza e ospitalità che fin da subito ha mostrato nei miei confronti si intuiva che ci stavamo studiando reciprocamente nel valutare in che misura ciò che avevamo visto in foto corrispondeva alle proporzioni reali. Il fisico di Crociato con i suoi pettorali ben messi, spalle larghe, gambe e braccia forti, lasciava presagire che per me non sarebbe stata una passeggiata, ed anche la sua iniziale esperienza nel BJJ sicuramente non giocava a mio favore. Per contro l'apparente "vantaggio" nell'essere più pesante di lui diventava uno svantaggio in termini di elasticità e resistenza. Così appena iniziato il combattimento ho cercato più volte di metterlo sotto e immobilizzarlo, ma niente da fare, riusciva quasi sempre sfuggire alla presa e a ribaltare la situazione a suo favore, lasciando che esaurissi le forze per poi contrattaccare. Così il match è andato avanti per le lunghe con più round in cui a volte vincevo io e altrettante volte vinceva lui. Un bell'incontro, molto combattuto da parte di entrambi con tutte le forze disponibili pur di prevalere sull'avversario. Crociato non si è rivelato soltanto un avversario difficile ma anche una persona molto amichevole, gentile e ospitale. Una bella persona in sostanza con la quale non può che essere un piacere incontrarsi ancora in futuro.
