Honestly it's been so long since ive had a proper bearhug I am unsure how to really answer this question. I find a bearhug dominating. Feeling my opponent squeeze the life out of me knowing I have no control or power over the situation. However the one bearhug I have received many many years ago really wasn't tight enough to where I couldn't breathe. I actually learned how to breathe in one and since then I have not had anyone up for the challenge of trying to put one on me that makes it to where I can't breathe
