I've always preferred the purity of a single hold applied at a time. That way the capability of the stronger or more advanced wrestler is not diminished by his need to use multiple holds in order to subdue his adversary.
It also serves as an example that the single hold can be relief upon to accomplish the task all by itself in the event the environment does not support the use of multiple holds.
For example, if there's multiple attackers, the last place you want to be is on the ground.
It's great to crank that nelson on tight, parade the opponent around, stop in front of a mirror and let him see the humiliation in action... DAMN, love the full nelson.... and when I crank it on, u won't be going anyway...
There's a unique kind of intensity that comes from a submission hold, but for me, nothing beats the absolute control of a grounded full nelson.
I love the moment my opponent realizes there's nowhere to go. I don't just trap his arms, I make sure to lock his legs, locking him down completely. It's about that feeling of total helplessness I can create. The struggle is real, but ultimately, pointless.
What truly elevates the experience? A ceiling mirror. That moment when his eyes meet his own reflection, and he's forced to watch himself, completely pinned and powerless in my grip. It’s a psychological edge that makes the submission so much sweeter.

Totally agree. Full nelsons are all about the psychological advantage. The longer an opponent is trapped and struggles, the greater your advantage becomes
Agree with mirror too. There is nothing hotter then watch an opponents face as he realizes he is not going to escape
The execution of a full Nelson is undeniably impressive from a standing position, yet the strategic value of integrating it with a bodyscissor combination cannot be overstated in the realm of professional wrestling techniques. This dual-threat maneuver not only showcases strength and control, but also enhances the submission's effectiveness, making it a highly esteemed move among both fans and practitioners.
My personal fav is standing, locking on the nelson then leaning back and lifting him off the ground so his whole body weight pulls him tighter in the hold increasing the stress and pain on his shoulders and neck. No pic but found this art a while ago.

Definitely standing. First, the Full Nelson is considered a control hold, and the standing full nelson allows for the greatest range of motion, variations of body position, movement, and mobility.
Second, it gives you the ability to pit your full body strength against that of your rival especially when you can plant your feet and hold him stationary in place, or move him around as a show of additional control and dominance.
Finally, the standing position more easily maintains the option to move to the other listed positions should the circumstances make it necessary.
I always liked the standing full nelson or when the person receiving can't stay on their feet and is on their knees with the person giving still holding on.
Upright, both men on their feet, the applicator pressing his grip on his man's occipital, lowering his man's chin into his throat creating a choke, next the dominant man arches his spine back so that his victim's feet leave the mat, sustaining him into an induced choke whilst the stability of his feet is now dangling over the mat.

There's a lot of fantasy posts, but this one is correct. The Full Nelson isn't a submission hold, its a control hold.

7/08/2025 3:57 PMStanding is fun especially if the legs leave the ground or you push the person in the hold forward and down, almost as if they’re bent over.
Sitting is cool too especially if they put their legs around yours so you’re restricted.
Laying is cool for erotic purposes as well.
I also like half Nelson’s personally.
