Unfortunately after talking logistics with my boyfriend to go to LA during that time, our lease ends on October 3rd so I would not be able to attend due to moving. I'm sorry I missed this when initially planning. There is still huge interest in this event so if you have the capacity to take it on I definitely recommend it! Or can always look for another date

How about looking into August or early September?

Charge an entry fee to cover the rental space, paid ahead of time. And a cutoff deadline for refunds. This way, you'll get more of a solid commitment.

August is still a pricy month to travel but it could work

At this rate, any flight will be expensive as cost continue to rise.

I'd be willing to help if you can let me know some of what you were thinking for this. We need a venue, but what all else?

With the amount of interest we had, we could have done a round robin around weight classes and then an open gym another day.

I really wish I could buy I'm in Michigan and cannot possibly make time to travel that far.

One consideration about having it in the fall is that you will need to watch the travel rates to certain areas due to football season ( college and nfl) as prices flying in around game days can hurt. The holiday travel would be another hindering but gives people enough time to save up.
There are also a few hotels that offer group rates if scheduled in advance.

Here's what I propose just based on discussions with people etc.

Fall 2025 we host boxing fest in either California, Texas, or Florida. Solely based off most airports are easy/affordable to get too, weather is typically nice in the fall, and could also be a good vacation spot as well if you chose to stay for 4 or 5 days. Going to drop a bunch of ring rentals I stole from a post that flexboxer made but is truly helpful. Fig4man also has his own rental in California which could be a great option too if California is the choice for it.

There is a ring in Oakland Park FL, just north or Fort Lauderdale, but the issue would be parking depending on how many people show up as it's located in a mini warehouse strip complex.

Thanks for doing this. As a schoolteacher in Australia, I have one long vacation of 5 weeks duration and three short ones (2 weeks each) every year. If the event is set for LA or TX soon, I can come any time between Jan 6 and 20 next year. My three other breaks for 2025 are 1) April 12 - 27, 2) July 5 - 20 and 3) September 27 - Oct 12. Note that due to the long distance and crossing the International Date Line, I need to leave the USA at least 3 days before the last day of my break. However, the locations and times floated around are all very doable for me.

Years back, there was a gay/lez bar in OKC,with an 8X8 ring, guys and women would step up, box to defeat, really erotic, some were fights over grudges, saw some pretty wild stuff. Not sure if such bars still host boxing like this.

No formal training here, and for me, , at my age, I wouldn't care for anything involving blows to the head, but game to fight a rival, safe and sane with mutual agreed on restrictions/rules, putting gloves into each other's belly and/or boobs till one of us is defeated, the loser, unwilling or unable to fight anymore, is worked over, on the ropes till he's on his knees or on the mat, signifying his defeat, fight over. No problem here with rental fees.

I’d vote for a place with a warm climate like Orlando Florida.
