It was a memorable day with a highly-capable and greatly-accommodating wrestler. ROUGHMATCH (Tommy Roberts) arrived almost two hours early and was ready for action. There were few preliminaries: both combatants were anxious and ready to lock-up. At first it was back-and-forth, give-and-take with neither wrestler taking a distinct advantage; then, the MAN OF 10,000 HOLDS showed his aggressive side by thumbing Tommy’s eyes and grabbing an Overhand Wrist Lock. A few seconds later, the wily veteran morphed into a constricting Sleeper. Tommy fought and struggled to escape, but began fading and eventually slumped to the mats. After more pressure, the bout ended with Roberts unable to respond to the “1…..2….3”!! RoundOne to THE MAN OF 10,000 HOLDS!! The next move involved reviving the apparently-unconscious Roberts. A few minutes later, the two longtime foes were at it again. Theee hours later…..a well-deserved break for food and bonding ( a necessity for any wrestling encounter). Return to the arena, gear change and back to wrestling. Each participant won and lost. By 10:30pm they were both exhausted and vowed to continue their struggle for supremacy at a later date (they even discussed the possibility of becoming a Tag Team and challenging a St. Louis duo). In reality, ROUGHMATCH and THE MAN OF 10,000 HOLDS are longtime opponents and dedicated friends. Pre-bout bluster and trash talk aside, it is all about their friendship, not about win, losses or who-beats-who. Tommy Roberts now heads to St. Louis for his long-desired meeting with the Grizz. The Man prepares for his next Dialysis session. The two will eventually come together again. But first, their everyday lives continue.

WRESTLE…..first and foremost!!

Today is the day: 7/14/2025. Planning and anticipation for months. After many threats and much hyperbole, ROUGHMATCH (“TOMMY ROBERTS”) will arrive later this morning. I am part of his long regional Summer tour (PA, WV, OH, IN and MO). We met before (2019). I hoped I would get another opportunity to wrestle him. That was the beginning of my six-year period of wrestling exile: hobbled by my feet and leg injuries and eventually becoming a Dialysis patient. I felt I could never wrestle again. But early in 2025, I realized there was more to my life than sitting around and waiting to die. I am not a zombie, I am a WRESTLER. This is the most-hyped encounter of my comeback. I tell my opponents I am elated to hit the mats with them; however, I am not the guy you watched battling in those RecPro videos. This is the older version of THE MAN OF 10,000 HOLDS!! I am much older and less-physical, about 50% of the former pro. Is it enough to tame ROUGHMATCH?? Or have I become “Enhancement Talent”?? Am I waiting to put him over?? Can I survive this Regional grappler??

He arrives at 11am. Stay tuned…..!!
