Alf Nelson's blog

Following my recent blog on old French pro wrestling, I wanted to share one of my favourite matches. This bout is full of great contrasts: Jack de Lasartesse was from Switzerland, tall and slim, with a straightforward style that relied on dirty tricks; his opponent, dressed in red trunks, was French, muscular, and an excellent technical wrestler. This match exemplifies what pro wrestling should be: straightforward, gimmick-free, in simple, traditional pro gear.

I may have already mentioned this. If you're interested in old French wrestling, the Segunda Caida website uploads old French bouts every Tuesday. This site is American, I believe, and its Spanish title translates as 'Second Fall'. Here's the complete list of French bouts up to now: https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/search?q=french

I would like to remove a photo or two from the two interest groups I set up here, but I don't know how. Does anyone know how to do this, please? I have tried asking the admin team but to no avail. Thanking you in advance.

I found the following statement interesting; it concerns ordinary men wrestling in the privacy of their homes. As a boy, I watched wrestling on my small portable television in my bedroom, with the volume muted and the door shut. I thought there was something wrong with me. At the same time, I had no idea that so many males were sharing my private passion. I'm sure many of you will resonate with the following.

A few days ago, I wrote a blog asking for new members to join the ‘Grappling with Disability’ group. I mentioned that if this group had fewer than 60 members within about 60 days, it would be automatically removed. I am pleased to report that it now has over 60 members, ensuring it is safe from closure. Thank you all for helping make this group a success — much appreciated.
